Brideshead Revisited picnic

I am writing this morning about the picnic in Brideshead Revisited for a future thing. It’s interesting how often it appears on the cover. Here are Quentin Blake (1962), Peter Bentley (1970) both for Penguin, and Harry Brockway (2018) for the Folio Society. Blake and Brockway both portray it faithfully (i.e. just strawberries and wine) while Bentley adds an entire picnic of additional fruit and bread for Charles and Sebastian, as well as taking considerable liberties with what Sebastian is wearing, though it looks like he's got the postage stamp tie from Paris right at least.
